Intermediate/Advanced Weaving: Floor Loom - Mondays PM

149.00

Taught by: Anton Sarossy-Christon

This class meets for 8 consecutive weeks, maximum 8 students, minimum 4. Ages 16 and up.

24 hours of instruction, $8.29/hr

Mondays at 6:30-9:30PM, First class is 10/21/19

This class is intended for students interested in moving on beyond our Beginning Weaving class and designing their own projects by either picking an item to weave from a weaving draft, or, using the resources we have available, to design a project from the ground up. Students will choose a draft or modify one to fit their project. Students signing up for this class should be able to wind a warp without assistance, and will decide on which warp and weft yarn to use. Students should be familiar with dressing a loom either front to back, or back to front, and the basics of reading a draft. Don’t worry, assistance will be available for each step in the process!

Supplies: There is no supply fee for this class, as students will purchase their warp and weft yarns on their own based upon the requirements of their projects.

While the NCAC has floor looms available for use by students, some students may wish to bring in their own loom from home. Should you wish to take advantage of this, please send us an email so we can arrange a time to meet you and set up your loom. Setting up a loom is a considerable time commitment for the instructor as each loom has its own “personality” and each brand operates a little differently. We’re happy to offer this service free of charge to help you become more comfortable working with your own loom.
